The Bennekerry/ Tinryland (B/T) team took top spot in the u10 and u14 competition with Myshall and Hackestown the respective runners up whilst Hacketstown took the County Title in the u12′s age group with B/T receiving silver.

18 teams took part in the County table Quiz (u14) and the Hacketstown team of Sarah Byrne, Ciara Lyons,
cards against humanity expansion, Roisin Hennessy Murphy, Kelly Hooper,
card against humanity, David Joyce, Ryan Byrne were announced winners with an incredible score of 96/100 and with last year’s winners Slaney Valley ( S/V) in second spot.

‘The County Games Director Liam Lyons was in shock at his team’s win, as it was eight years since they last won their only title in this competition,’ said spokeswoman Noreen Hynes.

‘Good luck to all in their next rounds.’

Art and model making resultsThere was a massive 222 entries in the county art competition in age groups u8 u16. The judges, well known artists and art teachers Jim Behan, Claire O’ Farrell, Simone Webb and Jillian Tierney had a difficult task but after much deliberation the winners are as follows.

The standard in both the Art and Model Making was so high that all judges community games committee are in the process of trying to get the entries displayed in Carlow Town to illustrate how talented the children of Carlow are. All first places winners will represent the County in the National Finals in Athlone in May.

The next forthcoming events are Tag rugby on Sunday 17th in Ardattin and the Talent Competition in Presentation College on Friday 15th. Reminder to all winning teams to date, birth certs need to with Liam Lyons by 17th Feb at the latest.
